The place is in a prime location in the city, and the host, Mr. John, is very welcoming and caring. He took great care of us until we checked out. We had an early check-in at 7:00 am, and he accepted it, unlike other places that would make you wait or charge extra. The place has a curfew at 10:30 pm, but he waited for us until 10:45 pm so we could finish our dinner. He truly believes in good customer service, and I’m sure I’ll stay here again when I visit Kochi. Great service leads to loyal customers.

The staff is friendly and helpful, but they seem to be happy making extra money. During the off-season, the place is mostly empty. There’s no shared kitchen or living room, just a small entrance room. There are only AC and non-AC rooms, no dorms. The location isn’t great. There are many small shops, but nothing really interesting. You’d be better off staying at Cochin Fort, as that’s where things happen. However, the place is close to the railway station and the port where boats leave for Cochin Fort.

The 24-hour front desk is great, and the roof kept the rain off the beds. However, the room was as hot as it was outside. Only 2 out of 5 windows had mosquito nets, and the staff told us not to open the others, yet the room was full of mosquitoes. The bathroom had no hot water. On the positive side, there is a nice public balcony for smoking.
