Karlad Lake Resort - Wayanad

The Karlad Lake is a natural freshwater lake situated near the Banasura Sagar Dam. A couple of miles past Vythiri town, get off the highway onto a road that languidly winds past hamlets and small farms. A pathway turns off this road, towards the Karlad Lake Resort, climbing steeply up the slope of a hill. Downslope and beside the path, a building contains the resort’s dining area, a complement of rooms and a roof top swimming pool. Further downslope, the lobby situated adjacent to this building and shaped like a traditional Kerala houseboat welcomes guests.

The path continues onwards, to a clearing from where steps lead uphill to pretty cottages with sloping roofs. Embraced on three sides by flowering plants, wild shrub and trees indigenous to the area, the area around the cottages have been exquisitely landscaped.

The elegantly furnished cottages and the set of accommodations situated downslope contain balconies and expansive windows that offer stunningly beautiful views of the Karlad Lake.
