Cashew cookies have been my favorite since childhood. I used to wait for my dad to return from Karaikal with them. Now that they’re available in Pondicherry, I’m thrilled. Muthupillai Bakery keeps the same great taste and quality.

One of the best bakeries in town. No celebration at my home is complete without a box of Muthupillai sweets. With a 100 year tradition passed down through generations, they are unbeatable in taste, variety, and quality.

I went there for sweets. The staff are friendly. A 1/4 kilo of mixed sweets costs 95 Rs. They also have a wide variety of cakes.

Mokka Pillai cakes are not well cooked. I bought a plum cake last week at the Pondy branch, and it was poorly made and not worth the money. It was inedible and very disappointing.

Many of the snacks come from third party vendors, and I was shocked to find some expired snacks. The shopkeeper was indifferent, just saying it was a mistake and putting the expired snacks back on the shelf.
