"Women's Engineering College Puducherry(erstwhile Women's Polytechnic College) bred from its embryo in the year 1988 with Computer Engg branch affiliated to DOTE, Chennai. Later, four more branches namely Electronics & Communication Engg, Architectural Assistantship, Modern Office Practice and Electrical & Electronics Engg paved its way into the system. The institute is administered by the DHTE through PIPMATE society, Govt. of Puducherry and is affiliate to the PTU, Puducherry. With the approval of AICTE, New Delhi and BTech degree courses are introduced from the academic year 2022-23. Also Govt. of Puducherry approved to upgrade the course Diploma in Modern Office Practice into BCom in affiliation with Pondicherry University, Puducherry"

WEC has knowledgeable teachers, good infrastructure, and well-equipped labs. They have provided 100% placement for Diploma students, and I hope this will continue for Engineering students as well.

The office room is terrible, and the staff is unhelpful, especially a lady named Kasthuri, who is very rude. Another staff member, Pitchammal, does nothing and just sits around. We complained to the principal, but she supports her staff. It's a waste of time and government money.
